Overview:
On January 5, 2022, The FDA published a new, interactive public data dashboard that allows anyone to view historical data from the Reportable Food Registry (RFR).
The new dashboard will be updated annually and will help state and local partners better determine when to issue health alerts, take steps to remove harmful food from the market, and target enforcement efforts, such as sampling assignments.
The tool allows the food industry to alert the FDA of a dangerous food product.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE INFORMATION PANEL?
- Users are free to modify the graphs .
- View trends based on selected products.
- Check the Hazards of use for a given product.
- Be available as part of the FDA-TRACK program ( FDA management system).
WHEN WILL RFR BE AVAILABLE?
The FDA is planning to launch a Safety Reporting Portal for Food in 2023.
In 2022, the FDA will begin a project to allow companies to export the RFR data from their internal business systems or from third party applications directly to the portal.
WHAT WILL BE THE EXTENSION FORMAT OF THE REPORTS?
Food and feed companies will be able to upload RFR reports as structured electronic files in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format to the Safety Reporting Portal.
The food information, including any associated recall data, will simultaneously go to experts and systems related to both the RFR and Recalls Programs.
